Anyone been? Wife and I are planning a trip for 2018 and it looks like if we go in April I can possible catch both the northern lights and the first part of trout/char season.

I can't help but picture a drilled hole in ice and a guy (not me) standing ~40' away trying to hit the hole with a fly.

A fishing buddy of mine fished there last year. He travels internationally for work a lot and is fortunate enough to bookend many of his work trips with fishing.

Iceland is resplendent. Ineffibly beautiful. Funny story - there's only one real airport. It's outside of RVK. You take a 40 min bus from the airport to RVK My wife and I were first on the bus. Second on the bus, a guy sees my ring and says "hey what class are you?" I meet Ags in the strangest places.

My biggest concern is that it's going to be cold as balls up there in April.
Went last year in early June and it was chilly but quite rainy. Flew to the Faroes which is about an hour and 20 minutes and you use the in town domestic airport. Just prepare for rain.
Sounds like a lot of trouble. I honestly prefer the farm raised ice over the wild caught.
Gamey can be a nice characteristic in some of the less mild meats but ice is one of the that I just prefer the clean taste and clear visuals of Comercial ice.

In Iceland, meaty girls are advantageous.
I wouldn't think it would be that hard to catch ice. Why do people need to fish for it?
