We usually park ourselves (wife, I, and 2 teenagers) on the beach at Gulf Shores, AL for a week in the summer. We all love the beach, and some occasional touristy stuff in the afternoon when it gets really hot. We like a nice pool also.

So, with that being said, we have heard good things about Seaside, FL, a few more miles down the road, from friends and neighbors.

Does anyone have recommendations for things to do, places to eat, stay, etc, around Seaside, FL that you have enjoyed?

TIA!

The Red Bar is fun.

You have to drive from Seaside. In Seaside the food is Ok. We usually just ate lunch out (bar food) and cooked at the house for dinner.

Stayed 5 nights in Watercolor earlier this summer. Highly recommend a family vacation there. We stayed in a cottage through the Homeowner's Collection (found through VRBO). We were a 3 min. Walk to our chairs on the beach and. 3 min. walk to the main restaurant area. Definitely recommend bringing your own or renting bikes while you are there, we biked everywhere. Renting through Homeowner's Collection gives you access to 3 or 4 community pools, Rec centers, and discounts on bikes and beach chair set-ups.

For food, The Southern is awesome but can get crowded. We ate there 3 times, breakfast, brunch and dinner. The pizza place near the main beach access is also good. There are several food trucks at the main square that we tried that I would also recommend, especially the grilled cheese one. We usually ate breakfast and lunch in our cottage for convenience and to cut down on costs.

FYI and iirc, Red Bar does not take credit cards.

Just got back... stayed between Seaside and Rose Mary through 30aescapes. It was legit. They provided a golf cart for a two minute ride to the beach. Pool was also great.

Seaside was great but extremely crowded. 2 hour wait for Southern.

We just got back, drive to alyce beach one night for dinner at George's it's awesome. We pretty much stayed in the beach if you rent chairs in seaside you get waiters, then you walk to watercolor on the beach and use that pool. We stayed in watercolor at some home it was awesome. Biked everywhere and kids loved it. One day we also went to Panama City and rented a boat and took the kids to seashell island it was money well spent.
