Spotted in Atascosa county. Only pic I could get before he flew off.

(Yes that is a high fence, no it is not my family's. It's a neighbor down the street from my in laws place)

That's a Harris's hawk.

I used to teach outdoor education and my boss was a falconer. On occasion, I was able to hunt rabbits with him and friends of his. They flew several Harris's at once. So much fun.

Where did you teach outdoor ed? That's been my primary career most of my adult life. Now, I'm teaching high school biology
