I don't normally mess with protein but wanted to test out some game cameras so went and put out a couple sacks. Funny how bucks can be inseparable padnuhs 8 months out of the year, then worst enemies the rest. Powerful stuff!

Anybody else getting velvet pics?

And one big nasty.

Id guess 4+. Hard to judge this time of year and from just that one pic. I bet he is 18" and very likely finishes above 150". It's still real early. Would love to see more pics of that one in the coming months.

I hope to keep getting shots of him. I was a little surprised because while I see a lot of deer in the neighborhood, I haven't seen many with good racks in this area. I got these too, but the picture quality isn't great. I don't think it is the same deer.

It has the same forked G2 as the previous picture.

I haven't paid that much attention, but you're right. The rack looks much taller in the night time pictures.

Pulled some cards yesterday. Looks like the bucks are almost done. Would like to run an arrow through the long spindly barely 8 point. Would make a nice euro mount but I bet he disappears come Sept.

Anybody else have recent pics?

I've only pulled one set of real cameras so far this year in addition to my backyard cameras that I use to test cameras and track food plots. I have what I hope are some really good camera sets out soaking and collecting photos. But here's a couple of pictures.

and some fun photos of the next generation from my house...

and finally just a couple of goofy pictures.

No idea what this little dude was doing. Yoga I suppose.

What type of hawk?

and this young lady didn't like the lawn mower I guess (note the time stamp)

Love the mass and kickers. So many of our Texas deer lack both.

I believe that deer is 9.5 years old. I have pictures of him all the way back in 2010. My Kansas deer will probably always have more mass than most Texas deer, but you'd be amazed what kind of "character" deer will get when they get real old.

...not that I'm saying you should let every deer get to 9.5 years. I would have GLADLY killed him the last 3 years if he'd given me the chance. He lives on the edges of darkness. That is one of the very few pictures of him we've ever gotten in full daylight.
