I think the one you're unsure of is a juvy snowy egret.

Although after a google, it may be a white morph, reddish egret. The biggest thing I look at is beak coloration, facial coloring, and then the feathers. There is a picture from Bolivar in 2012 that matches your unknown perfectly.

Just don't know if it is a correct ID.

I knew the answer.....didn't know a birder would show up that quick. I had a couple of chances of getting the red and the morph fighting but went ofer.

Those pics are fantastic! I'm blessed to have many of the same birds in my back yard on a daily basis... However, the property owner behind me (16 acres) is trying to have his zoning on his property changed from single family to res/rec for some unknown purpose. If the OB is so inclinded, please help us stop this by signing the petition in this link. We're 14 short from receiving our 1,000 signature goal. Excellent series of shots. I hadn't heard of that location before, and was a little hesitant googling "California hole", LOL. That area of the state is full of prime spots for birding, especially shorebirds. I don't really consider myself a birder in the strictest sense either, but have picked up a lot by just photographing them over the years. Reddish Egrets, both the common and the white forms, are a real fun bird to watch hunting for food, they are so animated.

Names on the petition are public?

Bacon, cheese Whataburger with jalapenos, no tomato. THAT is the correct answer. Historically a #5 + japs.

Can you talk to me about your equipment setup for bird photography?

A birder would probably say I'm not setup for birds. I have a good Nikon camera....a good 300mm fixed lens, tripod & a 2.0 teleconverter/multiplier.
