So here's the scoop... About a half dozen college friends of mine try to get together each summer for a short get away. They enjoy the concept of fishing, but most aren't really fishermen. So we're really talking bait fishing and trolling for the most part. fly-fishing or even what most on this board would consider normal every day lure fishing is frustrating for about 2/3 of this group.
To date we've fished off the coast of North Carolina, trout in the White River, Stripers on Texoma, Snook in Naples, FL, Blue cats in South Carolina, and salmon/lake trout in Lake Michigan.
...in recent years we've tried to incorporate 1 "other" event into the long weekend. A&M vs. South Carolina football, Cubs game at Wrigley, etc. About half the group has started to suggest a little golf while we're at it.
Soooo OB, if you had a 3 day weekend, 1 day golf, 1 day fishing (with the caveats above), and figure a half day travel in/half day travel out, what would be your Top 2-3 suggestions? I have some ideas and am working on more but I'm sure there are some I'm missing and I'm hoping you can help me fill in the gaps.
Probably looking at June-August time frame but that's semi-negotiable.
