I was shocked the gator would even try to eat an eel.

Impressive. Looks like it's jaw muscles seized and locked on to the eel...

I'm glad we don't have anything like that in the US... I hope.

Not a gator. Looks like an american crocodile.

Edit* Actually on review it's probably a black caiman.

Black caiman, I think. I have trouble wrapping my mind around the concept of a critter that you could weld with.

Yeah almost has to be a caiman, they are speaking Portuguese and electric eels are native to Brazil, it was freshwater. Kind of narrows the options.

But I wonder why this doesn't happen more? Wonder if most have an avoidance instinct, because you would think they cross paths a lot and the eel is gonna take them both out pretty much every time.

What I don't understand is the guy filming it. Is he talking noise to the caiman? "Yeah! How you like that? How does that taste?"

I'd also like to know what the end game here was. Who died first? The eel from being out of the water or the gator from electric shock?

That gator really didn't put up much resistance.

Electric eels aren't true eels. They are closer related to catfish and can breathe air in mich the same fashion. So I would say the caiman died first and if the eel died at all it died later from the bite of the caiman.
