Valentine, 2003-2017

Had to put down my furry friend this morning due to health issues. She's been with me since my parents brought her home in 2003 at 10 weeks old. She was always small for a golden retriever, but always so full of energy like most are. It's going to be hard going home today knowing she won't greet me at the door any longer. I know I'll see her again someday, across the rainbow bridge.

Rest in peace Valentine, you will be dearly missed.

. Sorry to hear. Many of us know your pain, but it is better to have had the joy and pain than to have never known either.

I had to put down my Beagle on January 2nd; its such a hard decision to watch your friend deteriorate in front of you; and man is it terrible seeing them put down. I was really depressed for about a week, but hang in there man, it gets easier.

Sorry for your loss. Honestly losing a dog is one of those things I don't think you can just understand until you have to do it.

On a lighter note, my six year old seemed to take it pretty well. For the first few days she would come whisper in my ear, "Daddy, did you remember that Lucy died?" When I asked the eight year old if she was sad she said, "Nope, Heaven is awesome right? So she's happy being there."
