Big bolt into a stud. Mine takes up a 6'x4' area. post a pic of the mount so we can see where the hanger is on it.

after days of sweating and patience, this bull showed up to the protein feeder in the100acre pen and he said I'll take that one. After complaining about the rest situation in the blind 46yds away, he was finally stable enough to take the shot.

Sorry I've been at the lease in Del Rio and haven't had good enough service to respond. Here's the story:

Let me begin by saying that I did not shoot this elk, it was taken by my special needs brother. It was 2006 and he was 15 and I was 12, we were at a very large ranch in the Texas Hill Country when the owner, who is a family friend told us that he had a beautiful elk out there. My father and his friend thought it would be a great experience for my brother, who is not necessarily capable of spending a week or two hunting out in the wilderness to hunt it.

After looking around we located it on the second day and my brother and the guide proceeded to stalk it on foot for a couple of miles before he finally worked up the courage to take a shot. (My brother gets the worst buck fever I've ever seen) Shooting off sticks, I could see the two of them lining up to take a shot, a cloud of smoke come out of the barrel and then waited for what seemed like hours for my brother to start jumping up and down with excitement that I've never seen before. Just to throw it out there, he shot it with a muzzle loader and was very nervous as he had not shot one before that week.

To this day, he gets just as excited as I've ever seen someone talk about anything they have ever shot. Granted this wasn't taken out in the back country so some of y'all will contend that it's a "pet deer" or not sporty, however I still believe it is still every bit as beautiful an elk and experience for someone who couldn't do otherwise.

My wife and I are currently having a fun "conversation" about this issue. My European mount is ready, but even with that, all of my ceilings are 8'. It's going to look goofy anywhere I stick. I could generally give a rat's a-- about aesthetics, my wife doesn't quite view it that way.

Not too good at aging Boy Scout leaders, assume the board says 4.5 to 5.5 years.
