Like some others have posted, I'd get a pair of hiking/backpacking boots for non-frigid weather. They work then, too, as long as you don't stop moving. And you can use different types of socks basked on temps. You don't need thick socks to make a big difference. Sock liners and quality socks does wonders. Go to REI. People at Cabelas, Basspro, etc. are hit or miss.
I've got a pair of Vasque skywalks (Now called GTX) for moderate weather, that I've had 20+ years. But I take care of my stuff.
I hate cold feet, so for sitting in the cold, I have a HEAVY pair of Brownings. Very Pac like. Never been cold. To temps far below 0.
