I can't tell how many eyes it has. It didn't appreciate my camera in its face, though.

See if you can get a focused picture of the back right behind the head. Not the abdomen. There will be a distinct dark mark in the shape of a fiddle. It is the most obvious marking for me to ID by. I'm not aware of any other spider with that distinct mark.

Well that is what is kind of odd... About 3 weeks ago I sprayed Demon WP pretty thoroughly inside and out. Before that I had been really lazy about spraying and probably hadn't sprayed in 9 months or so. I've always heard spraying can disturb them and you may see more bugs temporarily after treating, but I've never noticed it before this application. Maybe the long period without spraying before caused some infestation. The crazy weather could be a factor too, I suppose.

Should I spray again so soon? Can't really afford to raze it.

I've been bit by one.

Fortunately, I was vacationing with a retired nurse and show it to her because of the rapid change and she was familiar with what a brown recluse bite looked like.

If you start wondering how you suddenly have a pimple at 40 and the next day there is deep bruising all around it and an abscess were the white head was 12-18 hours before; get into a doc and get a giant shot of antibiotics in each butt cheek plus 10 days of horse pills.

Never felt the bite, can't say the same about those shots.

Not brown recluse.

Pretty sure that's a type of huntsman spider, not a recluse.
