How would the cost of a barndo compare to a SIP framed building?

Seems SIP material costs are a little higher, but savings can be realized on decreased labor. No reason you couldn't include dimensions for a shop too since the panels are all modular/built to size.

To those who used Countrywide: how was your experience with using them?

I am interested in speaking with anyone who has used Countrywide Barns for a barn and barndominum? Please email me your email so we can speak. I have two contracts with them currently and have questions about their work performance, project schedule, etc. So far my experience with them is horrible! Curious if anyone else feels the same way.

Round $60/sq ft where i live. Always hard to recoup the cost if and when u sale. Not many comparable sales.

Barn + camper. We just built a nice barn, 40x80, with half enclosed, half roof and slab only and parked a camper there.

Next owner loved the barn and realtor took the camper for part of the commission. Both rolled into cost basis for taxes. Much more flexible and cheaper.

I have a good buddy that builds these and has for over 15 years. He just recently relocated to BCS (will go up to about 100 miles outside of Brazos) and has started his own construction company. He can do all steel structures be it a barndominium, commercial, storage, etc..He can usually get a rough estimate together for you in about 24hrs. His name is Kasey Irvin. All of his info is below.

I like that this thread keeps getting bumped. We've just bough 2 acres of land in Sargent from my wife's stepmom so that we can keep the house on the creek. The plan is to bulld a barndominium on that land so the family can all get together and have a comfortable place to sleep across from the main house. Any recommendations for build out would be appreciated.

Anyone know companies that do this in comal county? Canyon Lake area?

Just finished one for a lady that was about $75sq ft. Don't skimp on the slab, frame, electrical, or plumbing. If you want to cut costs, cut them in appliances/fixtures, etc. just finished pricing a 100x40, the side ever between 9' ceilings and 8' ceilings was $1800. Leave open beams up top and really save. you can place columns inside wood walls instead of free spanning and that cuts another $1000 off possibly. Lots of possibilities to cut costs.

I may have a guy who can do the slab / exterior but I'd need a guy to do the interior finish out.

Also, how difficult are these to finance?

These barndo's are so remote, sometimes I wonder how hard it'd be just to travel all over the state & do these.
