I got this buck on Friday evening right at dark. We had been getting pictures of him for 4 years, but before Friday, no one had ever laid eyes on him. He came out 10 mins before dark, and angled across a hay meadow towards my stand and jumped a fence about 70 yards from me. He measured 20 inches inside spread, with 21 points that you can hang a wedding band on. He'll probably have 14-15 scoreable points. His left main beam measured 22 inches, with 6 1/2 inch bases. His neck was 23 inches in circumference. He weighed 192 lbs on the hoof, which is pretty dang big for that part of the state. We are guessing that he’s 6 ½ years old. He was taken on my father's low fence property, and by all accounts, had spent his entire life there. At the exact same moment, his 3 ½ year old son was taken by another man who hunts with us, 2 miles away. 10 point with a 16 ½ inch spread. He was ready to step up to fill his father’s shoes, but never made it. For native East Texas low fence bucks , I’d say we made a pretty good haul. I definitely got shined on in a big time way Friday evening!
