Just wondering how long till I can climb a deer stand after I get it done.

You should be good in 2 - 3 days. Have it done on a Friday, wear a jock throughout the weekend and surround your boys with a bag of frozen peas. You'll be fine... I'm not sure I'd lift a deer within a week or so of the surgery, so get help with that.

For every swollen sack story there's one of no problems. I didn't have any major issues.

I was walking around at my son's soccer game the next day an MAY have been able to climb into my elevated blind. If you try it the day after you get snipped I'd plan on taking an ice pack up there with you.

I was snipped on a Friday and by Monday everything was fine.

A buddy was totally out of it for a couple days when he had his done.

I dont have personal e perience but most folks i know have recovered relally quick. A few have had horror stories. One guy i know said he had no stamina or strength for 2 months. Worst story i know is my uncle. His stupid dr said he could do it in office sans anestesia and he bit. Dude passed out from the pain. Unreal. On the upside ive heard several guys say the joy stick got bigger.

My wife got really good at handloading. I figured since I HAD the procedure, it was her responsibility to lend a hand.

I had surgery for fertile reasons. Took a sample from my nut to see if any swimmers were there. 2 days later I was back in the field on my land survey crew. I had to take a piss and walked away from the crew. I did my thing, and turned around. My crew was gone. I had no radio and saw them down the road. I walked slowly and finally made it too them. I felt something "wet" in my pants and my stitches had opened. I almost fainted in pain and my crew had to take me back to the doctor to get fixed up again.

Word to the wise. Go about your day, but do it slowly.

Damn, wish I had read this story earlier. Just shows me what I get to look forward to in old age!

So how long before you can get back in the saddle? I'm going on vacation in 3 weeks and I want to make sure I'm good-to-go for my vacation sex.

My Dr. told me to wait 30 days and get tested ...just to make sure the surgery was successful. You can get back in the saddle pretty much when you feel like it...just proceed with caution as a few unwanted swimmers may still be hanging around.

The freedom when you are all clear is tremendous.

If you try to use it too quick after surgery, It may fall off, and the boys will explode.

But seriously, no swelling or discomfort here. I just wore sweat pants over the weekend.

I guess that explains why the reduction portion of the surgery wasn't successful.

Be aware of potential problems. Apparently if you did a lot of intensive weight training (e.g. football lineman weight training), there is the possibility that the blood vessels in your scrote can grow to the same size as the ones that need to be snipped. In that event, they can only tell them apart using a microscope and the doctor may dig around down there for up to an hour and still not get anything accomplished.

FYI, the anesthesia wears off after about 50 minutes.

The procedure wasn't too bad. Done on a Friday, back at work on Monday. Sat around all weekend and drank beer.

Kind of like any other weekend.

Sometimes it just better to leave it the way God plumbed it.....

This. I had the doc gove me 2 shots of dimerol. I was ready to sit up in the chair and watch his work, but he wouldn't let me.

Take it easy for a day or 2 and don't do anything stupid like heavy lifting or gathering cattle, sheep, and goats on horseback (like a firend of mine did).

Insurance covered mine no problem. I guess they figure its cheaper than paying for maternity care.

For the OP, I needed the pain pills pretty frequently for the first two days. Doc said there wouldn't be much pain, then sent me home with a Rx for 40 vicodin pills.

What did your doctor do to make it so painful, use a rusty can lid and pinch them off by hand?

Maybe it was just me, but I never really felt anything that a few Tylenol couldn't take care of.

Traded two guided fishing trips for my procedure. Made sure I got the surgery done before the trips, just in case the fishing was bad.

I never had to take any of the pain pills. Buy a couple of bags of frozen English Peas and alternate using them as an ice pack to keep the pain and swelling down.

Some people need to man up.
I had mine done in the a.m. and coached a little league game in the p.m. I never had any pain and I didn't use any pain medication.
As everyone else has said, take it easy for a few days and use it as an excuse to have the Mrs. or kids fetch beer.

I'm due for this procedure in the next 6-8 months, after the new baby gets here.

One of my buddies told me about the frozen peas, like it was some magic cure-all.

My take on it is this: it must be pretty damn bad if putting frozen anything on your junk sounds like a good idea.

Just make sure at Thanksgiving dinner, after everyone eats, you tell them where the peas have been!

I too am up for this procedure in the next 6 months, after our second one gets here. I have to admit I was pretty dang leery of it, but after reading this, I guess its not as bad as I made it out to be in my head.

You guys must be in sales though. Because this involves someone slicing and dicing down on my junk, and ya'll keep talking about laying around, handjobs from the wife, and everyone bringing you beer. Where do I sign up!?!?
