Anyone use it? It appears they installed it in my hood. We stream everything and have security cams on wifi and our current internet seems spotty as all get out. I would love to switch if it is worthwhile, but i dont want to go in blind. TIA.

I am a former customer, I dropped them a few years ago.
The service itself was solid, but Frontier's customer service is a train wreck. I had been on Vz FIOS for about ten years, and it was great, but when it got sold to Frontier, the problems started to happen
- They started charging me a $10/month rental fee on the FIOS gateway that I owned, it took a lot of phone calls and a lot of time on hold to reverse that.
- I was grandfathered into a lower rate, and they said I could keep it as long as I didn't change my service. A few months after they took over, they "accidently" changed my service, and could not revert my account to the grandfathered rate.
- One day, my internet just went down. I called tech support and dealt with them for maybe an hour before they discovered I had been disconnected for non-payment. I hadn't missed a payment, and I went a couple days without internet why they worked that out.
That was the last straw, and I switched to cable internet.

Have you upgraded your router recently? We had the same issues. For example, our baby monitor is over WiFi. I don't think a night went by that the stream didn't freeze while we were sleeping. We replaced the router with an Eero mesh system and it hasn't buffered/lost connection since. No changes made to our internet service/provider, simply installed the Eero and put the AT&T modem in passthrough mode.
I don't know a whole lot about routers to know if that is your issue, but I do know enough to know Netgear is overall a good brand. Does Frontier require there own modem/router? If so, did you put it in passthrough mode? How large/spread out is your house. Good thing about mesh is they all interconnect and spread the same network vs. traditional extenders.Sea Speed said:

I work for Frontier (an actual employee not a contractor) here locally in BCS. If you have any questions or are interested in signing up let me know. Customer service has gotten a whole lot better since the transition almost 6 years ago now. There is a big push for the Frontier FiberOptic (Formerly known as FiOS) and our new CEO is really big on customer service. I've been able to assist several people that are in neighborhoods where the service has already been turned up, signed up for service, and other than a few minor complaints the service is pretty rock solid. I can't speak for other areas serviced in Texas but here in BCS we are rocking and rolling. Frontier is working on blanketing most of South College Station at the moment and is projected to move into some parts of Bryan at some point. This is a long term 4-7 year project that started this past March. I don't work in our construction or engineering department so I don't have direct access to time frames so I can't tell you when it will be in your neighborhood exactly but I can tell you if it is projected to come, if you are interested.
