I get that it would completely go against what the trilogy tried to do but I really think it would be for the best if they didn't worry about peoples decisions and just picked something and started from that.
It might piss folks off but its gives them somewhat of a clean slate to start with rather than try to cover every option which they would probably just handwave anyway.
