Did "trending searches" suddenly show up for anybody else on the basic Google homepage on a non-mobile browser? It just started showing up this afternoon and I cannot figure out a way to disable it. Every search I perform tells me how to turn it off the app but I want it to go away. Anybody?

I haven't searched on google in over a year, but I just checked an it doesn't show that for me.

Huh. Thanks for checking. So bizarre, only happens for me on a pc browser. Nothing on mobile. Guess I'll just try to ignore it.

In case anybody is curious or ever has this same frustration, I figured it out. On a PC, you can't turn off trending searches. But if your search history is longer than the allotted space for the list, you just won't see them. When you start clearing your history, it populates the rest of the space with trending searches.
