How long do you want to ignore this user?
I have an old desktop that is still in decent condition. It comes up with an error message that says "iTunesHelper.exe - Bad Image". It has to do with a dll file. I've tried deleting it, doesn't work. It doesn't allow me to open a browser. Tried to do a system restore, but that didn't fix it. Thoughts? Probably a virus - downloaded MalwareBytes onto a jump drive, but it won't install.

Windows 7, Dell Inspiron XPS 7700 3.4 GHTZ Quad Core Processor 8 gigs of ram.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Try booting in safe mode to install the malware
bytes, or if you have any other virus software do it in safe mode.

Another option is repairing windows, if you have the disk put it in and restart or make a bootable usb.

Still getting the error message in safe mode. Don't have the original boot disk. Will try to make a bootable usb.

use add/remove programs to remove itunes, and never reinstall. What browser will not open?
you can try to run msconfig and in startup tab disable itunes

It gives multiple error messages referencing different executable files. One was lxdemon.exe.

I got tired of messing with it, and am just doing a full system restore back to factory settings. Data was on hard drive. Thanks for the help.

Might need to google if they are still updating to 10 for free. I did an old laptop late last year and it worked.

Different question.

It has an I7 4th gen processor I could upgrade to 32 gigs or ram and a SSD for about $250. If I'm not a big gamer (do play some online games) and use it for mostly surfing the internet and work, would I be better to invest the $$ into the current computer, or get something brand new with the latest technology?

Current computer has this processor : Intel Core i7-4770K @ 3.50GHz
Looking at a computer with this processor : Intel Core i7-9700K @ 3.60GHz
