My parents have an older camper trailer with built in surround sound. The connections are 6 bare wire pairs (4 in living room - 2 front/back, and 2 in bedroom). The old dvd/surround system stopped working and they tossed it. I am now trying to find something to replace it. What are the options for buying a new cheap (sub $100) receiver/surround system that can connect all 6 pairs?

Is the expectation to run those different rooms as "zones" where you can separate audio by group, or play all the speakers at the same time?

If there's a way to turn off the ones in the bedroom that would be great but not necessary.

Would a basic HDMI input with 2 channel multi speaker output do it? Just wire all the speakers to output both channels?

Yeah, just add a speaker selector box and you could turn off rooms and can raise the impedance if needed

What are you wanting through the speakers. Music or surround from tv?

If just streaming audio, get a car stereo with a laptop style power converter. CD player, radio, and then pair it with Amazon echo input, Chromecast audio (discontinued but still available), or a Bluetooth receiver if always close by.
