Worlds don't add much and are very limited. Little more than glorified playlists. Disappointing implementation.

The new parts are nice, though. The koopa kids give some much needed variety to boss selection. The other big one is the SMB2 mushroom; would have preferred an actual dedicated level style, but the powerup is still nice to have.
