Mother board recommendations

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm looking at rebuilding my PC, going with an i7 9700 and I'm looking for motherboard recommendations to pair with it. Will do some gaming with it. Having on board wifi would be nice as I travel for work, 13 week assignments, and places aren't always hardwired but not a deal breaker. I don't care about having the ability to control RBG.

Thanks!

I would go to PCpartpicker.com and find boards that are compatible, and you can sort by form factor and features.

-Do you plan on overclocking?
-What form factor do you want (ATX, mATX, Mini ITX)?
-Do you have significant storage needs for uses beyond gaming and basic PC uses?

I don't plan on overclocking at this time.

Either the ATX or mATX

No, I don't have significant storage needs.

Thanks!

The Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro WiFI should suit your needs then without overspending for a bunch of extra features you likely would not ever use then. It still has an excellent VRM setup if you do want to overclock in the future, which is not a given with the Z390 boards, but also means it will serve you very well at stock speeds.

I'm usually a pretty big Asus fanboy (my current rig is using an Asus x299 board), but you'd have to spend at least $100 more to get a comparable Z390 motherboard offering from them in terms of features and quality.

That's a solid board if you want to go with a mini ITX build.

I completed a build with the Aorus last week and had no problems with the board.

Just completed a build with this mobo, very happy with it so far.

That's definitely a solid z370 motherboard, though I'd tell someone now that it's worth spending an extra $10-$20 to get the z390 version, the ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero (Wi-Fi) especially for a 9700K.

If he said he really wanted to overclock or needed more bells and whistles I would have recommended the Maximus XI initially as well. I just recommended the Gigabyte board above because he said he didn't need a bunch of extra features and it's a solid board that's almost $100 cheaper than the cheapest ASUS option I'd recommend.

Go with anything asus. I just built my new desktop with a r7 2700x on an asus x470 prime. The board is great and has all the I/O I could possibly want. I also went red because I edit too.
