I played GOW 3 remaster and it was pretty cheesy but also fun with some memorable fights and locations. I'll pick this one up when it goes on sale.

I'm still waiting for Horizon to go on sale too but I still have a decent backlog of solo games to work through first anyway (Deus Ex current, Tombraider, Uncharted 4).

I used to play games all of the time, and now find myself (even without kids) busy or active to the point where I rarely sit down for hours to play. Having said that, I've had a long term plan of waiting for the latest and greatest PS4 for a bargain price and will purchase the games I've missed for $25-$40: Uncharted 4, GoW 4, Gran Turismo, Last of Us, etc.

However, now I saw that the PS5 is in the works and may be out in 2-3 years!

buy the ps4 pro now, and get some damn good games now.

Amazon Treasure Truck had the PS4 Pro 1TB SW BF2 bundle for $350 or $335 (I forgot now), but I read SWBF2 had pretty bad reviews. I figured I'd bite when they came out with a GT bundle or something better in a few months.

PS5 is supposedly having multiple issues in its early dev stages.

Was just looking to pre-order on Amazon since they have the Prime pre-order discounts, but it doesn't look like they have release date delivery available... I may end up buy the digital version just so i can play it on release day. But I also kind of like having the physical copy... Hmmmm, decisions, decisions...

I've never played a God of War game. Think I'm gonna start with one.

GoW was my favorite series of all time when I played regularly.

I need to go finish GOW3 on the PS3 and look at a PS4.

Took me two days finished last night. There are some godawful platforming and environmental puzzles that are terrible with those controls. There are two times that I spent an hour dying over and over again to get the controls to work for me. Fun game but was about to throw my controller through a wall

A few sections are definitely pretty rough, especially near the end of the game.

The second game seems to hold up much better so far. Much better pacing too.

Yeah, the second game makes the first look like a rough draft. Much better in all facets. Amazing they were able to make all that work on a PS2. Still PlayStation-y and old, but it felt like the jump between Uncharted 1 & 2. Guess I'll knock out GoW3 this week while I wait for Friday.

My name is Kratos. I kill gods, however I struggle when climbing rotating pillars with blades.

I've been replaying the three main GoW games the past month or so in preparation Currently about 2 hours into GoW 3. The games haven't aged that well but are still quite fun.

Finished 3 today. It's still gorgeous, and the big set-pieces are awesome. Few games have the same sense of scale. That said, the way it plays and the overall mechanics of the trilogy would not fly if released today. I guess that's why Ascension wasn't as well received.

It was really fun to replay the trilogy, though, and I'm looking forward to the new one on Friday. I still have Ascension, Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta here at home, so I'll play those while I wait.

I restarted 3 on Sunday afternoon. I looked at my last save point - it was 4.5 hours of game play and saved in December of 2013...wow, didn't realize it had been that long considering I periodically think "I should go pay GoW".

I really don't play games much, and the past few years it's just been Addams Family pinball on the PS3 w/my wife.

Never played GoW before. Am I going to be completely lost in the story if I just pick this up and start playing?

Damn near unanimous perfect scores everywhere I read. Highest scores since Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild.

Same! GoW coming out is what finally convinced me to upgrade to the pro and get the full power out of my oled tv.
