I bought some JBL Bluetooth earbuds, and have been using them to pair to an iPhone 6S.

I've never had Bluetooth headphones, and they sound decent, and the mic seems to work as advertised, but the audio randomly skips maybe a quarter second. (this happens on average 1-2 times per song)

Obviously this is annoying while listening to music or watching a movie.

The phone is always within 10 feet. Either in my pocket, or on my desk.

Is this something that every Bluetooth headphone will deal with? Or do I need to take these back and find a different brand/model?

I would take them back and get a different brand. Unfortunately I think you end up getting what you pay for with Bluetooth headphones. Hopefully you didn't pay $100 for them. That's how much I paid for Powerbeats2 Bluetooth and they are great.

Apple's AirPods are pricey but work very well and fit well (best fitting earphones for me at least). Sound isn't the best but works well enough for my uses.

Picked them up for sale at $60. I figured that was expensive enough to make sure I was getting at least a decent set.

They skip every once in a while, but that's only when I'm running/jumping around.

I have plantronics backbeat fit for the gym, and sony h.ear on for noise cancelling/travel use. Both work really well so far - I've had the plantronics for just under a year, and the sony for about a week.
