First off, please forgive me for my lack of gaming dynamics. I've tried to create numerous activities that have a gaming component to them so that kids are engaged. Some are better than others. My biggest issue is that I have a hard time translating my ideas into a system that makes the game playable for 11-14 yos while also have them experience the learning.
The gist: We're getting close to our unit on the Texas Oil Boom. I'm trying to create a game where my students need to buy "wells" and drill for oil. I want to also allow students to buy geological reports and better drilling equipment to improve the information they have regarding oil production.
I have a few questions that I want to bounce off of other people to help make the game flow and be easily played in a 45 minute time period.
Please email me at RedAgs2001@yahoo.com if you are interested in helping.
Thanks.
