Most quarterbacks are not going to be successful when their team has an awful defense, Jalen Tolbert as their WR2, a mediocre offensive line, and no running game.
Show me one quarterback with a comparable situation that is succeeding right now.
Dak is a choker. He just is. I'm not blaming him for this pitiful season, but he's never going anywhere in the post season. He wasn't worth what they paid him, not anywhere near it. He had a good team around him last year and pissed it away in the post season per usual.

I really don't care for Dak (posting history proves it) but to pin all the Cowboys problems on him and leave out the Jones family mismanagement is beyond ridiculous. Like I said before. Dak is capable enough to win a super bowl but needs pieces around him and a good culture. He's got neither
Dak needs a lot around him, as we are seeing now. He's probably had a top 1/4 or better offensive line almost his entire career, a great running game most of those years, and very good to great pass catching options. We are seeing now that without those things he's probably a C QB. Now, not a lot of QBs would be more than a B QB with the offense as constructed, because it's that bad, but it's pretty clear Dak isn't an "elevator" QB, and we're paying a lot for it.

As a lifelong Cowboy fan, I've realized long ago that it will never be any better ever under the Jones' leadership. They'll always be in charge, they don't know what they're doing or supposed to do to build a winner, and even if Cowboys fans like me stop going to games, those seats just get filled by fans of other teams that can't wait to come to games here and watch their team beat us in AT&T Stadium. IOW, Jerry and his crew will keep making money hand over fist. I don't doubt he wants to win a Super Bowl. But he has no idea how to do it. And he and Stephen will never hire anyone that could take the credit for coming here and turning this place back into a Super Bowl champion.
Jerry's plan has ultimately been a failure. Yes that's true for most Cowboy fans. Unfortunately the teams have been good enough for the Jones to somehow remain arrogant. It's pretty easy to convince yourself that they have been a break or two way several times.
That all being said, Jerry's an ass and doesn't deserve any sympathy. I get it that he's pissed that he has to explain himself to some radio jocks... but that's what you sign up for.

Stephen is the poster child for spoiled billionaire child. Born on third base and thinks he hit a triple. Surrounded by dudes who act like he's the funniest guy they've ever talked to. And it's fairly well-known that he's one of the least liked "executives" in the NFL, just acting big because he's Jerry's son. A lot of folks in the NFL front offices and their media hate the guy.

When in fact all he does is get fleeced in trades, and in negotiations (see Dak, Lamb) he plays hard ball until the last minute and then gives in and makes them the highest paid in the league. Way to negotiate you dunce.

If Jerry would admit that this season is a punt season and that the goal was to clear cap space and get higher draft picks, the fan base would accept it. Unfortunately he's not competent enough to realize that that's what needs to happen
I don't disagree with not being active at the deadline rn. The players that we have and would actually bring value in return for a trade can be traded in the offseason or closer to the draft.
