It's incredible how the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 in the Week 12 to drop to 7-5 before a Week 13 bye. Since that very late bye week, they have won 8 straight games (4 regular season games and 4 playoff games) in route to winning the Super Bowl. That winning streak included 3 straight road playoff wins at Washington, New Orleans, and Green Bay to become the first NFL team to play the Super Bowl at home and then a 31-9 rout of the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Tom Brady has won his 7th Super Bowl title, more than any NFL team in history. His previous six were with the Patriots, who sit tied with the Steelers with six all-time Super Bowls. That's the most any team has won in league history.

another thing about Tampa...their team was not "built around the draft"

they were about bringing in free agents plus mixing in a few homegrown stars (Evans, White, et al)

I don't think bringing in the HOF QBto be your QB is a very repeatable strategy.

It's similar to the Broncos with Manning, but there really isn't a way to plan for that.

Devin White. Dude was the MVP of their playoff run for sure and nobody talks about him.

is Tampa the first team to double Kelce all season?

or the first one to figure out how to do it successfully
Their pressure is making Mahomes make choices too early. They'll make adjustments to that.

It was simple defense they punched KC in the mouth for 60 minutes and the front running chiefs folded

Mahomes still cant read a defense very well and didnt have a clue

He was playing JFK in the pocket

Chiefs OL was missing 3 starters, and most recently the Fisher injury did them in.

Bucs have a filthy pass rush.

Mahomes/Chiefs banked on Mahomes magic, but he's playing hobbled.

Bucs took away Chiefs' first look every play and never let Reek go w/ single coverage. They bet their pash rush could win out more times than not on Mahomes having to go to 2nd/3rd options and produce magic. They were right.

Oh, and Brady/Bucs were not about to risk what happened in GB 2 weeks ago once they got a lead.

One play not getting much mention is the time out by KC in the red zone before the half.

KC calls time out as Brady gets to line of scrimmage. Arians/Leftwich try to send in a new personnel group as happens 99% of the time. Brady waves them all back saying "no! Keeps the same play."

Then he gets the PI on Mathieu against Evans. I didn't like the flag there, but Brady knew what KC was doing and he liked it.

Not to be rely on old football sayings, but this game was won on the trenches. It was night and day comparing the KC OL - TB DL battle vs the TB OL vs KC DL. Brady played great as he had all day to throw and in the second half, TB ran the ball down KC's throats. Mahomes was constantly running for his life

He also did a standing backflip into the endzone in their first game, so I guess some context is always nice.
