Word is Riley or Myer. Not a fan of either, but anything is an improvement over a decade of RC-level mediocrity.

Anyone have the stats on how well college HCs do upon transitioning to the NFL as an HC? I don't really follow the NFL much anymore, but I can think of numerous busts off the top. Although Jimmy did it, and Barry did it off Jimmy's talent.

unfortunately that's what we said when we got rid of R.C. We were so wrong. 77-0 level wrong.

But at least if you crap the bed in the NFL you get good draft picks.

Ding! Ding Ding!

Why would anyone want to work for possibly/probably the worst GM in football---performance wise. When it comes to franchise value, Jones can't be beat. When it comes to what he's there for, which is team athletic performance, he's one of the worst.

He's taken a perennial top ten NFL team, and for the last 25 years, hasn't even been in a conference championship game, not to mention SB. He's effectively taken the Cowboys to a perennial bottom five NFL team in winning for the past 25 years.

So Jason fired his whole staff and will get a new contract.

As I see it this is the perfect opportunity for Jones to have an amicable departure from Garrett.

He doesn't have to fire him, just let his contract expire. Jason got the full length of opportunity to win a championship that he negotiated. It didn't work out, both get to move on without a firing.

And to be fair - Carroll has 15 years in the NFL before USC

stupid media.

Everybody knows it's 99% chance he's gone, instead of waiting on facts they have to try to be the quickest to report it.

That's a problem.

that's what she said.

besides, Garrett's contract expires, Jerrah doesn't have to fire him.

"We've heard a lot about college coaches, don't know how warm he is to that particular idea," Schefter said. "Some names to keep in mind, though: Urban Meyer, Lincoln Riley...and Dan Campbell."

NYJ: 6-10

NE: 10-6
NE: 9-7
NE: 8-8

We must have different definitions of 'failed miserably'

Riley. LOL.
Well as long as cowboys have twice as much talent on field as teams we play we might do ok...wait, this is the NFL, it doesn't work that way at that level.

I'd take Baylor's head coach if I were cowboys.

Because Garrett looks like a 50 year old version of Conner McQueen.

I'd also argue Saban didn't fail. He didn't give it a long enough go.

9-7 in year 1. Saban desperately wanted Brees in 2006 but the Dolphins brass was too concerned about his prior injuries and let him sign with New Orleans and instead rolled with Daunte Culpepper.

Saban was not happy with that and left after the season

I'm no fan of Jerry Jones but this is so blatantly false. If you gonna talk sht, back it up with some facts at least.

I thing you might add that no other coach has been successful in Washington since then either. Notoriously bad owner ad gm's.

Your right. In the past 25 years the Cowboys have lost more than they have won 7 times.
There are a few 8 & 8 records in there.
