Seriously. I could understand if he was stood up and there was some opportunity to signal forward orogress. But it was bang-bang and out. I guess this is a new rule where any fumble backward no longer counts. Fumble in the backfield and you can mark it where the center snapped it.
I'm really confused why Garrett didn't ask to have that looked at? I guess they said forward progress had been stopped and that is not reviewable but the announcers didn't even bring it up.

He lined up about a foot off the line and looked like he timed it right. He moved right before the snap. Hard to tell from the camera angle, he might've been in the neutral zone when it was snapped but just barely.

Hell yes he did. What the heck was that? Does anybody even know the rules? The ball is placed at the point of recovery right? He was a good yard+ behind the marker.

The issue with forward progress is that it popped out immediately due to the hit that stopped his progress. That call makes no sense at all.
