Judge erases his murder conviction

Quote:

Via Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports, Judge Susan Garsh has agreed to erase Hernandez's conviction for the shooting death of Odin Lloyd because Hernandez died while the appeal was still pending. The ruling arises from a Massachusetts law that resets the case to its inception if the defendant dies before the case concludes. Prosecutors had argued that erasing the conviction would reward Hernandez for taking his own life.

The outcome could make it impossible for the Patriots to deny further payment of the signing bonus that Hernandez earned in 2012, and likewise to reclaim all money he earned under the contract extension. Given the acquittal for the double murder that came five days before his death and the expungement of the murder conviction, Hernandez in the eyes of the law is not guilty of murder.

The NFL isn't bound by a criminal case. I'm sure NE and the NFL have plenty of contractual ammo not to pay. This psychotic peter puffer was unable to fulfill his emd of the contract through his own actions. End of story. No payola.

On a different note, what a bunch lib pansies up there. He was found guilty. Case concluded.

And of course, all the headlines are "Conviction overturned" which lead to thoughts of "oh that poor man! He offed himself for no reason".

Can't believe the crap that goes on in modern America. Not everybody has to be a gun carrying redneck, but friggin A, some people need to re-grow their metaphoric balls!

This one has nothing to do with the libs up there. It's an almost 400 year old law from colonial times. I venture to guess that law will be reviewed by the lege up there soon.
