Given the past history, that shouldn't concern you as a Pats fan at all. That just means 2 other teams in the league will get a dud as a HC, and the Patriots machine will continue to churn.

You're correct about most ex assistants struggling elsewhere and BB running the machine. That said, I think Josh McDaniels is pretty special as an OC with his ability to change the plan week to week and win with what pieces he has available to him that week.

Mike McCoy - San Diego Chargers

Marvin Lewis - Bengals
John Fox - Bears

Would be interesting if Pagano got the axe. That might be the only spot that Harbaugh leaving Michigan might be in play.

My guess is Pagano, McCoy, & Lewis get canned.

Irsay would really have to open up his pocket book to hire Harbaugh. Michigan is paying him $9 million a year.

There have been some rumors about Ron Rivera in Carolina getting the axe as well.

I think Mike Mccoy and Todd Bowles are gone.

Next most confident about Pagano getting the ax.

I think Kelly gets another year because everyone knew the Niners were going to be bad. Ditto on John Fox.

I think Lewis gets retained just because I think the Bengals are a cheap organization. I think next year he gets fired.

In what has to be the least surprising news ever, Jaguars interview Tom Coughlin.

the Colts job will be in high, high demand because of Andrew Luck. It's rare for a coaching job to come open with a great QB already in place.

that might be enough to bring Bill Cowher or Jon Gruden out of retirement

The dead money on his deal is $4.9mm. They save 14mm by cutting him. He gone

Gary's wife, Rhonda along with a team of doctors told Kubiak the late hours and stress are too much for him and his health.

The coordinator in Buffalo is the main target and leader to get the job.

If Houston loses quickly in playoffs, mutual parting of ways with BoB and Houston could happen, meaning he'd be a name to watch put there for one of these jobs.

A - It is a cheap organization.
B - If it wasn't for Lewis, the Bengals would have been like the Browns.

In 2002, the Bengals were 2-14, the Browns 9-7 and had just lost the playoffs.
Since Lewis was hired, the Bengals have been to the playoffs 7 times. The Browns have had 7 coaches (that have done full seasons, not even counting interims).


If I had to rank the AFC franchises ahead of Cinci during this time, I would easily put Patriots, Broncos, Steelers, Ravens, and probably the Colts, but that is more to do with Peyton and Luck than the franchise. And I'd listen to (but disagree with) discussions about the Chargers and Chiefs being better. After that, the Bengals have been pretty solid during his time there.


That's not a ringing endorsement of Marvin Lewis, but just to say that I think the Bengals franchise will be worse off when he leaves, and I do think he gets fired next year (or no renewal on contract).

Yeah... people forget that the Bengals were about as incompetent as the Browns are now for about a dozen seasons prior to Lewis. He's a pretty good coach.

anyone who survives both chad ochocinco and terrell owens on the same team is a good coach in my book.

Rams hire 30 hear old Sean McVay to a 5 year deal.
