Has anyone made the move from outside sales to real estate agent (residential)?

I've been in building materials/construction equipment sales for the past 8 years. In the Austin market so I know it's competitive/saturated/blah blah. Willing to hustle for a year or two because I know what it takes to be successful in sales.

Curious if anyone has made this move? Hated it? Loved it? Help! TIA

You will be working after hours compared to your current sales gig. Realtors take people to see homes in the evenings and on the weekends. Keep that in mind. You will be working odd hours to accommodate your clients.

Are you considering anything besides real estate? If you'd be open to considering building a career with an independent insurance agency, PM me. Same work ethic required, but the after hours stuff is a lot less prevalent.

AggieT12 and FarmerKeith,

Would love to network with you both. I know RE and insurance pretty well.
