SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant, under the leadership of the Supervisor, will be responsible for daily accounting functions and month-end close duties for both public and private companies. The Senior Accountant will perform general accounting services including ensure that all financial data is recorded accurately and on time within Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and company policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare schedules and journal entries including recurring monthly/quarterly accrual entries, stock compensation, payroll, bonus, intercompany and allocations.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items timely.
  • Maintain well-documented workpapers and instructions for journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
  • Participate in monthly internal reporting including coordination of Revenue and Expense flux analysis.
  • Maintain lease accounting schedule and prepare necessary journal entries.
  • Assist with external and internal audit requests.
  • Participate in quarterly SOX testing.
  • Prepare special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in Accounting (Oil and Gas Exploration and Production).
  • CPA, or actively pursuing with having already passed at least one part.
