Candidate is an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to design, administer, and monitor databases for advanced analytics. Candidate will be responsible for performing quality assurance on incoming data, verifying data integrity, troubleshooting performance and design issues, and supporting application development, data warehousing, reporting, and operations in a primarily Microsoft environment.

Required qualifications, skills, and tasks:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years DBA experience
• 3+ years with direct SQL Server environment experience
• Experience in remote administration of SQL Server assets
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
• Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they happen, including after hours
• Expert with T-SQL, writing complex stored procedures, queries, views, and triggers
• Proficiency in database design and table normalization
• Experience creating and managing backups, recovery, and restoring DB from backups
• Use Dynamic Management Views to monitor server operations and health
• Diverse experience in system & query performance profiling
• Responsive index design
• Experience managing SQL Server logins, roles, schemas, users, and security
• Proficiency in implementing data governance principles
• Document database environment and functionality
• Provide insight addressing performance, comparing different solutions such as index/query improvements, configuration changes, and hardware upgrades
• Provide reports to IT & development team on which recent queries use the most resources
• Review new database objects and code for readability, reliability, and performance
• Ensuring appropriate and consistent datatype & table design across databases
• Informing all stakeholders about upcoming maintenance and changes or modifications to existing database assets
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency

• Experience managing tables/datasets of billions of rows
• Experience with data abstraction/access layers
• Experience supporting advanced analysis using large datasets
• C# & WPF development experience
• Tableau dashboard, visualization, and custom SQL query creation
• Certification/experience with SSIS, SSRS, and/or SSAS
• Python and/or Visual Basic experience
