Howdy, Ags

I'm graduating in May with a B.S. in environmental geoscience and minors in geology and business administration. I've applied to numerous positions already but figured I would use this board for its designated purpose. Does anyone know of any environmental science/EHS opportunities that one could apply for?

Thanks and Gig 'em,

Check out the environmental programs former student fb page. There's several environmental contractor companies currently hiring. Also what sort of industry are you looking to go into? This might help narrow down what job position you are qualified/wanting to go into

I'm really interested in water resource management as well as basic natural resource management. Air quality appeals to me. I'm also interested in environmental health and safety specialist positions.

Been in the industry for 25 years and it seems there has never not been a shortage of good air quality staff.

I would highly suggest going this route if it does indeed appeal to you. I was let go in October and during my job search I saw tons of job openings for air quality and compliance positions (not necessarily entry level).

I have no experience in AQ but kept wishing I did as it would've been way easier to find a job.

Man, about few months late. I hired an EHS specialist a few months ago.

Best of luck to you.

You may check with the TAMU EHS department for openings or openings with the EHS contractors they work with.

Actually never occurred to me. Thanks for the suggestion! Sometimes I forget about the opportunities this school offers!

I graduated in 2011 with a BESC degree. Have done nothing but air permitting and compliance work in oil and gas post graduation. It's definitely a specialized aspect of EHS. The company I currently work for has a team specifically devoted to air permitting and compliance and a team that handles everything else (SPCC, waste water, hazardous materials, etc). If you can learn about air and the rules and regulations then you will always be in demand and employable in O&G.

And there's a reason for that. Air regs are a black hole to most people which means there's more opportunities
