In case someone on here knows... for assigned ranking... how is that determined? For context, son is homeschooled, submitted his SRAR, submitted a 1330 SAT, and got assigned top quartile ranking. He studied and retook SAT, and got 1480 (760 math)... trying to get into engineering. Once he submits updated SAT does that help improve the assigned ranking or is top quartile going to stay? (Conscious that getting into engr is competitive)....

Thank you to anyone that offers insight.

They would remain in the top quarter in this situation. It is based on the information within the application file such as SRAR and the school profile. An updated SAT score would not change the ranking in a class. It is helpful in the test scores section since A&M uses the best one day score received by the deadline.

How do you know what the assigned ranking by SAT score is? Daughter is homeschooled.

She will be able to see the assigned ranking within her Applicant Information System (AIS) once the assignment is made.

My application used to show "application complete and in review" and there was an assigned rank. When i looked at the application online recently, it now shows "incomplete" and the rank was removed (no rank). Note that SRAR has always been linked.

Any ideas as to what may be going on?

In a specific situation such as this, it is best to call 979-845-1060 or email admissions@tamu.edu with your UIN. Your individual file can then be reviewed.
