Not sure where to ask, so dropping it here.

Does anyone know what TAMU's policy is on soliciting on campus.

I was approached near Academic plaza by an individual selling self help books or something like that for "donations". Definitely nowhere near typical student demographic and did not identify as being affiliated with TAMU at all. No stand or anything but walking around and approaching students with a duffel bag of books.

Is there a rule against this? Do they need a permit? Does TAMU have its own special rules outside of College Station? I don't normally like solicitors, but this experience was extremely irritating to me for some reason. Missed my coffee this morning so I will blame it on that I guess. Regardless, just seemed like something that would not be allowed but not sure.

I run a large lab facility on campus and can block solicitors by posting signs. Public areas must have a permit.
