For over 20 years I've served on the scholarship committee of the SA A&M Club Foundation. Currently we award eight $12,000 scholarships per year. Yesterday we interviewed 23 members, selected from some 125 applicants,
of the class of '22. We could have saved ourselves some time and just put all their names in in box and drawn 8 names. Any school in the country would be glad to have them. This was a cross section of Bexar County, male/female, Corps/civilian. This is the best group we have ever had. If this is any indication of the quality of student Texas A&M is attracting, we're in pretty good shape.
