Is there a way to look up HS academic rankings, test scores, stuff like that? And is there a way to compare to other states?

Looking to contrast Louisiana high schools to a NY HS

You planning on moving to a different state to get into a better high school?

No. My wife has a client (she's a realtor) moving from NY to Louisiana that is choosing the town he lives in by which school has the best academics.

I found a US News Report that should be good enough.

Aren't private schools the way to go in Louisiana?

In general, yes

But some of the small towns have high schools with good graduation rates with kids going to college.

I think some of the data is skewed because such a large portion of our population goes into farming, industrial construction, or plant operations. Many farmers don't go to college, construction hands just get a certification like the NCCER at best, and plant operators get a 2 year degree from a Vo-Tech
