Where is the best (cheapest) place to get textbooks? Is renting cheaper than buying & reselling?

Look on half.com. I used to find the "international" versions of a lot of books that were significantly (50-60%) cheaper. Content was the same, only difference was that they were paperback and the pages were like newspaper, but hey.

So don't bother with a rental place like textbook solutions? Just but used online and resell locally?

Just an update for future students:
Don't order your textbooks online if there is a hurricane about to shut down Houston.

My most important book has been sitting in WV for 10 days with no apparent plan to leave that FedEx facility any time soon.

Buy used online
Sell on Craigslist or online to keep the net very low
Make sure you actually need the book before you buy it. Wait until the first classes and then decide.
Don't buy on campus unless you have to
Buy older versions of the books
