This is our taxpayer funds that Trump is intending to spread out to his donor class based on claims that the Biden Administration had been weaponized against them.

Not very hard to commit fraud in this plan at all!!!

Thoughts?

Seems a little light.

And I assume by claims you mean the facts in record of Biden's DOJ.

Hell, it has been Dems official platform for a decade.

Unfortunately, when you abuse power a price has to be paid.

So, a class refund for all the years of policy discrimination based on probable political views?

We don't want the money. We want prosecutions to deter future corruption

Price of "fweedom" as Kamala would say…

BTW - I fully expect Trump to send US citizens $1,776.00 bonus this summer.

My first thought is that you don't want a thought you disagree with.

When President Newsom authorizes billion dollar settlements for James Comey, Jerome Powell, and Letitia James that's going to be cool huh?

I do think the government should be held accountable, and people should have a means of getting justice and compensation when they are wronged. But it's got to be an actual adversarial process with two distinct sides and a judge or jury to make the call.

Unfortunately the left politicized and weaponized the judiciary as well. So there is no longer justice being administered by judges and juries particularly in blue hellholes.

Hence the need for this fund. Call your dogs off and we can talk compromise. But until then this is the way.

Well this would recoup some of the legal fees the targets incurred to defend themselves.

So who represented the American taxpayers interest in this "negotiation"? Unfortunately, this will be repeated under the next Dem president and may become a new way to hand out political patronage.

When government employees violate rights of citizens, prosecute them by all means.

I agree in principle because the govt shouldn't be able to target political opponents, but whomever receives the funds should absolutely be public record

Rage bait headline. It is just earmarked funds already allocated to settle lawsuits set aside to pay for weaponized government lawsuits. It's not anything new, it's just what they expect will come out of those suits. Definitely not what the headline claims

Earmarked by whom?

Was this a bill?

ETA: Found this!

Quote:

Funding will come from a permanent congressional appropriation that allows the Justice Department to settle cases. Participation will be voluntary, and there will be no partisan or political requirement to file a claim.

Nope. Money that the Justice department has control of to settle lawsuits involving the government. I'm sure it was a contentious, high negotiated deal that just coincidentally came out to 1,776 million.

I'm sure that Trump had no say in the settlement discussions by his justice department.

So in conclusion, Trump sued himself three times, his own lawyer (Todd Blanch) settled the claims, taxpayers appear to be paying it, his hand picked commission selects who collects. And the money can flow to January 6 rioters. So it's being sold as fixing weaponization but it is, in fact, weaponization.

Just wait to see the reaction on Texags when the Dems do a similar situation under the next Dem President to settle lawsuits being brought by the Trump
Administration. It will start with this time is (D)ifferent when in reality they are using the same playbook to hand money to their supporters.

Really light compared to the $85 billion of military equipment Biden handed over to the Taliban.

The level of contortion that MAGA can do to explain away trumps fraud is impressive!

The left: Run an extortion and money laundering racket out of Ukraine, sell your country down the river to the Chicoms, set up and stage an "insurrection" at the Capitol, and when people are held accountable, claim it's just revenge.

There was a time when it would unthinkable to for this level of corruption to happen so brazenly. Whether it's this, the massive insider trading that appear right before/after major announcements on Twitter/TS, or family members getting special deals and business contracts by the government, or foreign governments.
