Some politicians aren't just bad politicians, they actively pursue policies that damage the country. Their actions spill over into the criminal and the treasonous
That makes it hard to bite one's tongue and cry crocodile tears when they fall ill
No one's asking for crocodile tears, and it's fine to stay silent. It's just human decency. I'll be right there offering prayers if something were to happen to President Trump.
When Mother Teresa died, almost anyone who said anything negative would be condemned, and yes, I'm aware that she had a few detractors.
Anyone who said anything negative about Hitler when he died, would be agreed with, congratulated, and given high fives.
So it's disingenuous to claim staying silent is human decency. There will always be the Mother T end, where their positives so outweigh the negative, such that any criticism is not tolerated.
And there will always be the Adolph Hitler end of the spectrum, where what sparse positives (he liked dogs?) are overwhelmingly outweighed by the immense evil they leave behind. No sane person would call you indecent if you metaphorically pooped all over Hitler's grave online.
In the real world, we all fall somewhere on the spectrum between those ends. At what level can we rejoice over the suffering to bad people? If MT is a 1 and AH a 100, is 50 evil enough to celebrate their death? 75? 90?
I'll just close with Clarence Darrow's comment:

"One reason why we don't kill is because we are not used to it. I never killed anybody, but I have done just the same thing. I have had a great deal of satisfaction over many obituary notices that I have read. I never got into the habit of killing. I could mention the names of many that it would please me if I could read their obituaries in the paper in the morning,"
