We dont want any more Indians. We dont want any more third world immigration period. Hell, most of us don't want anyone from Norway or Hungary either. We have enough people. We need to convince Americans to get off their asses and make ween companies off the third world labor teat.
But when Chad and Karen would rather live at home with mom and dad instead of getting the jobs the third world immigrants like Vivek are happily taking, what else can be done except to hire them? Wages have gone to and Chad and Karen still would rather stay home than work. How else do you convince them to work when it's obvious they don't want to.
Jocks don't sit at home after school. I have never known any jock who did this. They all went on to be very successful. The people who stayed at home were those who did nothing in high school beyond school.
You must not know a lot of jocks at urban schools. Many are low life thugs and trash after high school.

My take....Quote:
Okay, so is everyone who thought Vivek was one of the greatest things since sliced bread by the right now persona non grata?
And can the same be said about Elon as well, or is he getting a little less harsh treatment?

Wasn't Michael Vick a QB?
A. I certainly dont trust Vivek, but we'll never trust anyone 100%Ag_of_08 said:
You trust someone that blatantly wants to continue the destruction of the middle class in this country to act in your best interest?
I am happy to mark this post and say Elon has no power to cut the gov and in 4 years will have accomplished next to nothing. Especially once the House switches to D in two years.AgGrad99 said:A. I wont trust anyone 100%Ag_of_08 said:

B. He doesn't get to act unilaterally
C. We need to slash the government. Not a few line items, but giant giant cuts that cannot likely all be accomplished in the next 4 years. I'm happy starting somewhere, because our debt is crushing the middle class to a much greater extent than visas.
Mark away...I'm not making any predictions.samurai_science said:I am happy to mark this post and say Elon has no power to cut the gov and in 4 years will have accomplished next to nothing. Especially once the House switches to D in two years.AgGrad99 said:A. I wont trust anyone 100%Ag_of_08 said:

I'm not making any predictions. I'm simply stating what needs to be done, and why I'm ok starting with these two guys.
That is what needs to happen.samurai_science said:
You said that we need to slash gov spending which will not happen, and these hanger ons have no power to do anything.

Vivek and plenty of people here are painting with really broad brushes.
My kids go to a very competitive HS, where this year 53 kids tied for valedictorian - meaning they took every AP or advanced course offered in core classes and all had a 4.0. The average SAT for that group was north of 1400. More than half played varsity sports. They are headed to amazing colleges all over America.
While it may not be that way at every highschool, there are plenty of competitive schools all over Texas similarly pumping out amazingly talented and accomplished students. The myth that we need to import high end technical talent is being pushed by those who have other agendas.
Some want to grow their preferred ethnicity and culture in America. Some want cheaper engineering workforce via flooding supply. Others want lower end talent to fill out lower and middle ranks by importing lesser skilled, lower paid talents.
None of the people punching this are doing it from the purpose of improving America's economy.

I think Elon's angle is to get rid of rightly-criticized "worthless' government workers and pump that money into low-wage slave imports, who are at least producing something.samurai_science said:I am happy to mark this post and say Elon has no power to cut the gov and in 4 years will have accomplished next to nothing. Have any proof of it, or jyst towing the tech-bro mgmt line?
Funny, I know people with decades of experience in th tech sector who are highly skilled and motivated that are 1000+ applications in, some of them to companies importing people on H1b visas because they "can't find" workers.

Our American culture has venerated mediocrity over excellence for way too long (at least since the 90s and likely longer). That doesn't start in college, it starts YOUNG.
A culture that celebrates the prom queen over the math olympiad champ, or the jock over the valedictorian, will not produce the best engineers.
