I hope you know that Mexico's new President, Claudia Sheinbaum, is a hardcore Marxist.

I don't know how Trump is going to negotiate with her.

Trump can use tariffs.

Grab her by the "@&$$, of course!

You never know, but I'm conditioned to believe Americans don't have the stomach for the fight when the MSM shows the deportations occurring and CNN shows children crying and men and women being injured. It's the same strategy the Muslims use to sway the weak West against Israel.

There's a mandate, but don't be surprised to see this get stopped very quickly when CNN gets video to use for their propaganda

For four years we lamented not following the rule of law and now that team red rules, we don't care about the law. Do I have that right?
Logical fallacy. They broke the law to enter our country, they are criminals, and you want to cry about how we have to round them up and deport them. Tell your leaders to stop aiding and protecting criminals and this wouldn't be necessary.
I'm worried about what rights we deny to people who are citizens to enforce such deportation. Why aren't you?
It's the Philosophy v. Presidency paradox.

If your team doesn't have the Presidency, everything you talk about centers around your deeply DEEPLY held Philosophy about how the nation should be governed, the limitations on Executive actions, and how a powerful government is oppressing its citizens.

If your team wins the Presidency, suddenly your vaunted Philosophy of limited government takes a vacation. Meanwhile the other side suddenly finds its moral scruples.

You don't have to ask for I.D. Just ask the person detained to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in English. If they can't, you know you've got someone who doesn't belong here.

We don't have an official language in the United States. Unlike Canada where they force you to say she/him. We have Freedom of Speech here in case you didn't know

It has nothing to do with official language. In order to become a citizen legally, you have to speak English, in case you didn't know.
Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

Just because you can't speak English doesn't mean you are here illegally.

Do you honestly believe that "illegals" do any great chunk of crop picking? First, a farmer better not get caught using such labor, and second there were plenty of green card holders and legal pickers available before this 10 million+ surge.

Spend some time in a border town and watch the traffic coming over legally every morning to work.

Most of the meat packing plants/slaughterhouses are staffed with illegals and illegals do, in fact, pick a lot of the fruits and vegetables grown here. People in charge are going to have to figure out what to do about that. Give them work papers or something. I'll also be curious to see how much it effects construction in Texas. I made a list of every job I've hired out in the last few years and pretty much all were staffed with illegals (except plumbing, electric, hvac.)

New roof- illegals

Exterior painting in house Company A- illegals

Interior house painting done by Company B- illegals. This bunch had a lot of variety- Mexicans, Guatemalans, Hondurans, and guy from Peru

New pool- illegals

New gutters- illegals

Driveway concrete extension- illegals

Fence construction-illegals

Fence staining- illegals

New sod laid- illegals

New stone flower beds- illegals

Tree trimming of big live oaks- illegals

New landscape bushes and flowers-illegals

New windows- illegals

New screens- illegals

New interior shutters- illegals

New wood flooring- illegals

New interior tiled floors- illegals

Our longtime lawn mowing crew- illegals and I'll fight tooth and nail to help them get work papers. I'm sorry, but no teenagers or adult white or black guys do as good with yard work as Hispanics. I've tried them all and there is just no substitute for the quality of work of my guys.

House cleaner- we wouldn't trust anyone else with our house. She is the best cleaner we've ever had. She treats our house, pets, and kids like they are her own.

I am out of town for work at least 3-4 days per week. I work long hours every day. No way in hell I'm spending any of my precious free time doing yard work, house cleaning, honey do jobs, etc.

ETA- All of the illegals I mentioned above work for companies owned by white guys. There's going to be a lot of pissed off small business owners when their companies fold.

I would say a 250 percent tariff on everything would be appropriate if they don't want to help President-elect Trump and the United States enforce the law.

Trump said during every rally that tariffs are his favorite tool, and talked about how he effectively used tariffs in his first term.

this is such a lazy argument - most the folks that poured into the country aren't picking crops - they wouldn't be put up in the various sanctuary cities public housing , receiving EBT cards etc. if they were living rural next to the farms they are "all" working on.

It's not a high horse for someone to point out that you are openly stating that you prefer to use someone's criminal status to extract labor that is personally cheaper for you, while you externalize all the additional costs of their criminal presence to the rest of the citizens of your country.

You get what you pay for, but unfortunately everyone else gets what you don't pay for.
It's a rational choice for you, personally. But it's not a sustainable way to run a political nation-state or an economy bounded by the jurisdiction of that nation-state, because your personal discounts are directly incentivizing distortions in the entire market.

I live in the San Antonio area. Since living here we've had a roof replaced, flood mitigation inside the house, new flooring, new paint exterior and interior, and had foundation work done. All of those jobs were completed by locally owned American companies; the flooring was installed by one guy - not illegal. I didn't verify each worker, but the crews for the most part seemed to be American with the possible exception of the foundation work but that was a national company and I assume (correct or not) they were legal because of that. None of that work was the absolute cheapest available.

All of the companies I used are owned by white male Americans. And I think most of you on here are full of it if you claim to have hired a bunch of companies that weren't staffed with illegals. That is next to impossible where I live for all of the work I had done. Lastly, none of the companies I used were cheap. I have found that hiring the cheapest bid equals poor work. I can't control who the owners of these companies hire to do their jobs. They obviously think they do good work or they wouldn't keep them on staff.

It's not my job to police companies for who they hire. That's the governments job. Every person from each company mentioned above that came out to my house and met with me to give a bid was a white American man. Do you require that companies you buy from or hire to do a project provide you with the names, pictures, and citizenship papers of the employees that will be completing the work? I guarantee you don't.

Do you eat beef or chicken or pork? Eat Florida oranges? Eat apples? Yes? Then you are supporting the work of illegals.

That's a major part of the issue. Those "white guy" owners (who gives a **** what color skin they have???) should be sued into complete insolvency, since they are so cavalier in their hiring practices that even their customers know they employ illegal immigrants. Yes, the full weight of the law should apply to white people, too. I don't think that is controversial to say.
