ODNI is a redundant waste of money so I would see a good reason to do away with it

It serves ZERO purpose other than pass through and an email box to pass notes between the various intelligence agencies that run themselves independently. DOD handles the DIA, NSA runs themselves, CIA ditto, remember the bulls*** 17 Intelligence Agencies that claimed to have contributed to the ICA that Clapper threw together in ten days with his clerk? Every branch of service has their own Intelligence Agencies and they run themselves independently no need for the OFNI to even exist, it's nothing more than a bureaucratic catch can.

I'm all for trimming it…but we need someone to herd the cats in some form or fashion. We know the different agencies don't like to talk to each other - someone has to coordinate and be a singular voice to the president. Not saying Clapper did it well.

10 of those 17 report directly to the DOD thus the SECD already a cabinet member

CIA Chief already a cabinet member

The rest of them report to cabinet members

Department of Energy: Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence

Department of Homeland Security: Office of Intelligence and Analysis

Department of Justice: Federal Bureau of Investigation

Department of State: Bureau of Intelligence and Research

Department of the Treasury: Office of Intelligence and Analysis

Drug Enforcement Administration: Office of National Security Intelligence reports to the DOJ



Once again the ODNI is a complete catch can overly funded and a complete waste of taxpayer money
