I never understand this argument. If abortion is wrong, it is because you are killing a baby. If it isn't killing a baby, it isn't wrong. The issue isn't as "gray" as everyone likes to make it out to be. Provided we all agree that killing babies is a bad thing, abortion is either very clearly wrong, or not wrong at all.

Your correct. If the OP just replaced "abortion" with "nonconsensual sex" in that sentence all the moral ambiguity disappears. In both the case of abortion and rape, it's the person who doesn't have a say in the matter that is the victim.

I question the intelligence of anyone who thinks Harris is a viable candidate. Her economic policies are lunacy that 5 year olds know will not work.

If you think Trump is at fault for covid, you did not pay attention. We would have been better off had we stuck with his gut instinct and not closed anything down.

Correct. They also forget it was basically the MSM and blue states that wanted things to stay closed past April. Trump wanted it reopened by Easter latest. Had the country reopened in May like various red states did, the impact would have been far less.

Thank you for the thoughtful post and apologies for being so late to the party. Here's my thoughts:
1) Tax Policy: Trump. Agreed, and it's beyond tax policy. Trump's economic policies will be better for everyone.
2) China: Trump. Agree with reservations. Targeted China tariffs are fine for the reasons you mentioned, but I fear he will go too far and damage the economy. Tariffs are a tax on us, and that would damage the economy.
3) Southern Border Security: Trump (and it is not even close) Clearly correct.
4) Supreme Court: Trump. I hope it doesn't swing back but any justice who commits to accepting what is actually written in the Constitution or statutes is superior. Not Merrick Garland and the wise Latina.
5) Stability of our current Democratic system: Harris. Disagree completely. The problem is that you are caring more about what Trump says instead of what he does, and caring about what Dems say and ignoring what they do. Trump is bombastic. He will say things that be exaggerated and shouted to the hills by the media. If he could be a dictator, he would be president. But his use of unconstitutional executive orders was limited versus that of Obama, Biden, and will be small compared to Harris. He was wrong on J6 but what happened because of it? Nothing. Biden is president.
6) Leadership capability/style: Harris. You're not wrong in your assessment of Trump, but don't forget Harris' problem keeping staff. It's reliably reported that she screams and cusses them, and they quit because of the stress. That's not leadership - that's bullying.
7) Capability of those the President will surround themselves with: Harris. ITrump will have yes men, because no one else will work for him. Is that true? Only in the minds of Never Trumpers. It's clear that Tulsi is hoping for a position. Would Harris appoint a moderate? Do you prefer a committee of people like Warren who believe in a command-and-control economy? By people like Walz who come up with the idea that it's a good idea to put tampons in boys bathrooms? The style means nothing - it's the policies they will implement.
8) Ukraine - Harris. I think Trump Fs Ukraine hard with a quick end to the war. I think Russia controlling more of the world's food supply makes the world a worse place. Agree with you on this one.
9) Would you drink a beer with them? Test - As an individual, Trump is a truly horrible person who has treated so many women so poorly and he doesn't drink. Harris is an idiot who slept her way to the top. So pass on having a beer with either. Agree completely. Both are deeply flawed candidates. Anybody normal would likely win easily. But we have what we have. Trump will be controlled by our constitutional controls. We know that from past experience. Why don't we have a border wall? Because Trump could not get it done, a very undictator like outcome. Why didn't the Afghan withdrawal occur during his term? Because he was persuaded otherwise. With the Dems you get dead soldiers because it's their way or the highway. At least with Trump you will get more than 50% of the policies you like. With Harris, it's more like 10%.

Still undecided - the candidates are that terrible but Harris is worse.

From an economic and inflation perspective she's just unelectable. Same with the border and immigration, part of the administration responsible for the withdrawal from Afghanistan, utterly failing at that as well. Won't say no to adding supreme court justices, probably more regulations that will continue to drive up the cost of goods while being non-value added at best. My family can't afford four more years of this crap.

Trump, I disagree strongly with his previously stated plans for dealing with the Russia / Ukraine war. He's too all over the place on social issues and I don't get a very good idea of where he would actually go with any of that since he seems to be everywhere. I disagree with Vance on marriage and not allowing "X" as a gender marker on passports. It may be a little bit less of what his campaign has come out stating and more some of the company he keeps and what some of the more social extremists believe that make him harder to vote for.

But, I have a family to feed and there was less fighting in the world during his previous administration so he sounds like the lesser of two evils.

OP....thank you for posting this. Some comments on your main issues with Trump:

"You will never have to vote again"
Knowing that millions of Christians did not vote for Trump in the last two elections, Trump begged for votes this year stating that they "will never have to vote (for him) again".
Quote:

Christians get out and vote. Just this time. In four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not going to have to vote.
He didn't say you can't vote, but that you will not have to vote.

Bleach, lights etc.
With Trump, you get to know what is going on in his mind. All other politicians speak in differential equations level of calculations to avoid any miss-steps. You never get what they truly believe or are thinking about.

What happened is the Acting Undersecretary of Science and Technology for the Department of Homeland Security, explained during a briefing that new experiments show the coronavirus does not fare well under sunlight or heat. Trump took that tidbit and exposed what he was thinking of in the following press conference.

Quote:

I would like you to speak to the medical doctors to see if there's any way that you can apply light and heat to cure, you know, if you could. And maybe you can, maybe you can't.
The press only shows you part of the quote so Trump looks bad. Just like "some fine people" and a few dozen other quotes.

Killing the Boarder Security Bill
The bill could codify that up to 5,000 immigrants per day would be let into the county (1.825 million people). The money would not go to secure the border but put more funds into processing the 5,000 people per day (and send $118B to Ukraine).

This bill needed to be killed.

I hope this helps....

4) Supreme Court:…,,,So I would like the court to swing a little bit back towards the middle so if there is only one replacement Harris might be good for the next 4 years.
disagree completely- The Democratic Party leadership is actively pursuing installing judges that undermine the Constitution.
5) Stability of our current Democratic system: …,,I'm pissed at the Democrats for hiding Biden's condition and not holding a true primary. I absolutely do not believe Harris would have won the nomination in an open primary. True
But January 6th really bothers me.
Before Jan 6th President Trump recommended bringing in National Guard, Pelosi turned him down. Even Pelosi' daughter exposed this bull***** In his speech President Trump said peacefully demonstrate.
Trump's respect for dictators bothers me.
You are confusing "respect" for firm policies that kept us out of any new wars and ended the ISIS caliphate after Obama sad nothing could be doepne.
…,,,
Harris has no leadership capability at all, she is known to rant and rave while yelling at her subordinates that have left her in droves.
Trump only knows chaos and mob boss mentality.
You are confusing firing incompetence which is a sign of leadership.
He's a narcissist who can not and will not rely on other experts. The way he worked with the CDC around COVID was gross and a complete failure (see bleach, lights, etc.)
Wrong, he followed the CDC, NIH and Dr, Fauci who lied to him. The bleach, UV Lights blown way out of proportion by the idiots in the news media.
..,,,
7) Capability of those the President will surround themselves with: Harris.,…,,,
Wrong, this flies in the face of his turning to the military to eliminate the ISIS caliphate which the military ended in months after Obama claimed they couldn't be defeated.
8) Ukraine - Harris. I think Trump Fs Ukraine hard with a quick end to the war. I think Russia controlling more of the world's food supply makes the world a worse place.
Based on his track record of containing the outbreaks of war, I would say President Trump has a better chance of containing Russian aggression. Remember it was Obama who sent blankets to Ukraine then President Trump sent weapons so Russia only invaded after the dimwit, corrupt liar Biden took office.
9)…,,,l, Trump is a truly horrible person who has treated so many women so poorly…,,
Wrong,
  • Included women's empowerment for the first time in the President's 2017 National Security Strategy.
  • Signed into law key pieces of legislation, including the Women, Peace, and Security Act and the Women Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment Act.
  • Launched the Women's Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) Initiative the first-ever whole-of-government approach to women's economic empowerment that has reached 24 million women worldwide.
  • Established an innovative new W-GDP Fund at USAID.
  • Launched the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) with 13 other nations.
  • Announced a $50 million donation on behalf of the United States to We-Fi providing more capital to women-owned businesses around the world.
  • Released the first-ever Strategy on Women, Peace, and Security, which focused on increasing women's participation to prevent and resolve conflicts.
  • Launched the W-GDP 2x Global Women's Initiative with the Development Finance Corporation, which has mobilized more than $3 billion in private sector investments over three years.
Issues I feel neither candidate will do anything about so not really driving my voting decision:
1) Immigration reform - IMO, part of border security is having a simple, legal way for visiting low-skill workers to come in (field farmer workers, hotel cleaners, etc.) I don't think either party is interested in this.Wrong, President Trump endorses LEGAL IMMIGRATION.
3) Shrinking the size of government You really need to look @ Agenda 47
4) Balancing the budget / government spending responsibilityYou really need to look @ Agenda 47
5) Israel - I don't think either candidate is going to have much sway and I'm not really sure I care what happens one way or the other. I care
