They're citizens so not sure classifying them as immigrants makes sense. Just saying.
Puerto Ricans who move to the mainland are "migrants"
Unlike the Illegal Aliens who are now being called "migrants"
Eh, not sure I agree there either. When Californians invade Texas, they're not called migrants. If my neighbor moves to Chicago in December, he won't tell his new mailman that he migrated from Texas. Or Maybe some will but IMO it is an odd term to use to describe citizens moving within their own country. Just my two cents, not trying to be disrespectful.

Maybe transplant is a better word, in no way was I trying to be derogatory.
Fair enough. I definitely refer to Rogan as a transplant.
You as a person migrate when you move from place A to place B. Although most of the time we call it re-locate.
In 2023, I re-located from California to Texas.
But when the government statistics folks look at it, they're going to call that a migration.
The broader term is migrant.
Just like how these days you keep hearing terms like SA or Sexual Assault when in reality it covers a range of crimes.
Immigration is a subset of migration where you go to a foreign country and intend to stay there, etc.
And that's what these illegals are doing. So calling them migrants is generically correct, there's a much better descriptor that we should be using - illegal immigrants.
Splitting hairs on migration subcategories, I've got two from my personal life.
When my family lived in Saudi Arabia because my father got a job there, it was never intended to be anything other than a temporary situation. So we were never Immigrants there and I wouldn't even say that we migrated there. Maybe a temporary re-location - even though it was for many years.
On the other hand, when I moved to Australia, I did it as an Immigrant and after going through the proper paperwork and years of compliance, I obtained my Australian Permanent Residency.
While Australia was great, after 12 years, it was time to re-patriate so I moved back to California. Again, government statistics people would call that a migration.
