Will there be any jail time, or does he get probation for a first-time offender? Can he appeal and remain out of jail?

Good old Chuck. He'll turn on anyone. Although in this case he's right.Kenneth_2003 said:
LOL! Schumer just issued a statement calling for his resignation.
Assuming Biden loses, yes he'll likely pardon him. They have known each other for decades.Schneider Electric said:

30 other democrats have previously called for or signed onto calls for his resignation. Unless republicans backed away to potentially keep him around to poison the ballot he could easily be expelled.

Phew Dems dodged a bullet here by not nominating a convicted felon. Imagine having to vote for a convicted felon. Who would do such a thing?

Menendez registered as an independent and is proclaiming his innocence. Democrat voters are so stupid, he thinks he might get away with it. Why not, he's been getting away with selling America out for bribes most of his career. Everybody in DC had known Menendez has been a crook for years.

Now being reported Schumer is calling for his resignation, so the NJ Governor must already have a replacement in mind.
Well, the Republicans don't happen to have one running...but you go girl!MiamiHopper said:

Based on the pile of charges he's racked up that would actually be impressive. This is the 2nd time S. Dist. NY has gone after him, with a hung jury the first time. He doubled down and they nailed him this time. I've heard he thought he was teflon and just flaunted it everywhere.jac4 said:pfo said:

He's a corrupt bag of crap for sure, but sadly I wouldn't be surprised if there are 10 senators more corrupt than him.

"Presented with specific, corroborated allegations that defendants Menendez and Melgen had sex with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic, the Government responsibly and dutifully investigated those serious allegations," the filing says. "The indictment here, of course, charges only corruption and does not include any allegations of soliciting underage prostitution."
