Makes sense for anyone who wants a Republican President to vote for Trump if (when) he's the 2024 nominee. One thing to keep in mind though. While he'll no doubt do some things to the liking of conservatives, it's no secret that Trump himself is no true conservative. Meaning with no next term to stump for he'll no longer feel it necessary to pander to the rural, real job Americans who would be the base of his re-election. Campaign rhetoric is cheap and easy, especially for someone not already looking toward reelection. Meaning in turn that it's likely he'll do some things that will seem like a betrayal to that base. Time will tell!
New York Magazine named Trump as the most conservative president in US history. Their headline in 2018: DONALD TRUMP IS THE MOST PURE CONSERVATIVE PRESIDENT EVER."
LOL. I've zero experience with New York Magazine but it sounds like they have the political acumen of MAD Magazine. I did read that as a kid. Acting like a conservative to appease the voters who put him in office and he wanted to keep happy so they'd do it again doesn't make him an ideological conservative. His cold shoulder to immigrants as President seems a bit put-on considering his grandparents were immigrants, he married a couple different immigrant women, and he regularly hired immigrants for the grunt work at the Trump properties.
I've no doubt Trump does have a few conservative bones in his body. Most rich people do because they have a bulldog intention to both hold on to and build on their fortunes. Trump's views on abortion are borderline conservative at most. He obviously has no problem in adding to the national debt. And Trump certainly has no reverence for (or much knowledge of) the Constitution. Conservatives are against government handouts such as subsidies, yet with his trade wars and imposed tariffs, due to the harm it caused our own exporters, Trump handed out subsidies to farmers. A mostly Trump voting block. Trump is more a Mob Boss type than a true conservative. Unfortunately one who has become as or even more looney tunes than Biden.
