Trump was an idiot during Covid, and I don't think you will find many people arguing otherwise, once you lay out your specifics like requested.

There also is the camp that says "it was all new so we have to forgive our dear overlords for going tyrannical and suspending the Constitution, but at least they reversed course before the blue states". Those people are idiots.

With that said, a lot of 2020 falls onto the GOPe and media for enabling said situation. Trump was battling the left and media as usual both domestic and foreign, but also had to battle a significant majority of the GOP that wanted to expand government power and make Trump look bad. Trump was in a no-win situation unless he put his foot down and essentially gave up on running for re-election in 2020.

All these people crying about Trump are the same frauds that turn their back on conservatism in action. You want small government but don't support anyone that tries to actually do it.
Small government? Trump? Seriously?

It's this kind of delusion that makes nobody even remotely conservative like Trump. Y'all don't now who you're voting for. You wishcast things onto him because he has the celebrity status. You're not one bit better than Obama fanatics. In fact, you are the equal and opposite reaction.
Learn to read. I did not take a position that Trump is "small government ". My position is that you guys don't even recognize when conservatism is practiced. It's always attack, attack, attack unless it's YOUR guy. Is the country more important than the politician? Act like it.

Trump will tear apart anyone that's not for him, regardless of party or platform. It's exhausting when MAGA says stuff like this because the hypocrisy is off the charts.. Just more straight up denial.

It's also denial to suggest is even the best representative of conservative principles in the GOP.

Dear OP

Its not us Trump has to convince. We'll hold our nose and vote for the non-Dem.

It's all the independents who have heard nothing but the medias poison and lies about him 24/7 for the last 7 years

40+ years. I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020, proudly.

Not this time. Only possibility of voting for him is if it looks like he could lose Texas. Then I'd hold my nose and vote for him. But if it's that close in Texas we're hosed anyway.

You forced an awful candidate on us. Don't be surprised by the lack of enthusiasm. Candidate quality matters and R's keep picking bad ones. He can't keep doing and saying stupid **** and expect us to roll with it. No sir.

Might need to go ahead and let this version of the party burn down and rise anew from the ashes.

Never thought I'd say that, but I never thought we'd be here either.

And this is why the America First movement had to take over the Republican Party.

You had a host of weak fellas like this guy who regardless of the Marxist opposition in front of them, have to play nice to defeat them.

You guys don't seem to understand the gravity of the situation, the peril that may befall your lineage. It's time to wake up and see what is before you.

[w]Policy trumps personality. [/q]Vote for the policy. When you portion that out, are you really saying you have to hold your nose to put America first?
Except he's all personality! If his "policy" objectively worse, populist policy is what you really want, go off and do it in some corner instead of trying to hijacker's conservatives and the GOP.

It's not a choice between"guys".

It's a choice between the rate of transition to Marxist tyranny or freedom. It literally is.

I personally don't care if you anti Trumpers vote for Trump or not. The nation is lost, Trump is simply a small speed bump in the path if he gets elected.

So stay home or vote for Biden. When you get smacked in the head, look in the mirror. Hth

353 counties across 29 states had vote counts that were higher than the number of folks registered to vote. None of that has been fixed. It will likely be done on a much larger scale this year. Legitimate votes are being diluted with illegitimate votes and no one is doing anything to fix it. Good luck cause voting IS rigged.

You actually think trump cares about the size of government? Or fiscal responsibility? Getting out of NATO is a populist view, not a conservative one.

And it was confirmed this week that Gaetz went after McCarthy because of the investigation.

...to the fact that for whatever reason, Trump is going to be the nominee for the Republicans. The level of OMG look at THIS about Trump is getting old and tired at an ever increasing rate. Most of our first choice either in 2016, or now, was not Trump, but he's gonna be the guy. Haley is only there as a GOPe last stand in case something happens to keep him from being the nominee and walah, we get what the establishment wants.

Not my first choice by any means in 2016, and was really hoping DeSantis had not self destructed this time around (another topic, but it happened).

So, here we are. Trump. I did like his inauguration speech that caused the establishment to squirm like they had ants eating their privates, and he had some great policies, but was thwarted at every turn b/c not establishment. This tells us they don't have or want, what the voter does.

This leaves us on the Right with a defining moment. Are people going to sack up, hold their nose and vote against Marxism/Socialism/Real Racism, and throw in their vote for Trump, or just say "I'll not vote because I have higher standards, etc." and essentially hand over the wheels for eternity in this country to those that will do things like allow American Citizens to become collateral damage to save an open border, with all the crap that brings? Or the Woke driven assault on societal norms that have allowed our country to flourish as a shining light that has saved the world more than once?

The man is a jackass, but the world's history is ridden with leaders that have been a jackass and held evil at bay, at least for the time being for someone with a better temperament to ascend to take their place. A stop gap measure if you may.

Time for folks to sack up, hold their nose, and vote AGAINST the evil that resides within our border, not necessarily because they like Trump, but the alternative is demise on a short term scale of our country.

Trump. It's not WEF/Soros/Obama Socialism. It's the best option we are going to have.
Choosing not to vote is the worst possible cop out for an American citizen.

Only voting for someone, who you see as the perfect candidate in every way, is foolhardy and unattainable. I do not subscribe to the party system and always vote for the least of the evils running.

That always turns out to be the most conservative candidate in my view and one I perceive to be non establishment. The bureaucracy has become one of Americans greatest enemies

So let me get this right. You voted for him in both elections but somehow now are fed up with him. You do realize he wasn't the president for the last 4 years. So you are basically saying you will vote for any other candidate for other parties that is thrown out just to not vote for him even if their names are hitler or Mussolini. Amazing you ever voted for him once, let alone twice. This type of thinking baffles me.

Speaking of COVID and Biden, this is what you will get with your Marxist in the WH:

"The Biden White House furiously pressured Facebook to censor content that raised questions about or criticized the COVID-19 vaccine and Facebook...did so.

Rob Flaherty, then-director of digital strategy at the Biden White House, said to Facebook, "If you were to change the algorithm so that people were more likely to see [New York Times], [Wall Street Journal], any authoritative news source over Daily Wire, Tomi Lahren, polarizing people. You wouldn't have a mechanism to check the material impact?"

This is what you and those like you support. Censorship! Propaganda!

Enjoy your future!

Yes everyone gets a pass for the first month or so. What happened to Trump after that? Oh, he gave Fauci a medal and criticized actual conservatives for opening up too soon. And he still won't say he'll do anything differently, which means the next time we get a virus that "escapes" from a Chinese lab it'll be up to the actual conservative governors to make sure we don't have lockdowns again.

Trump 2024
MAGA is about 50% to 60% of the party based on polls when there were several candidates in the primary.

Good luck recruiting the rest -- and independents -- with Trump's ongoing slash and burn approach. Telling people he doesn't need their votes should work out really well for him. Blacklisting supporters of his primary opponents is also a winning strategy, lol.

He is an awful candidate. I know that's hard for some to accept but it's the truth. He won a close race against Hillary in 2016 -- thank God. Since then he or his hand picked candidates have lost in 2018, 2020, and 2022. "But the fourth time is the charm!" Yeah, right. 62D chess, lol.

If it looks like he'll really beat Biden, the Dems will swap Newsome for Biden at the convention and he'll wipe the floor with Trump. The stage is already being set for that with the Dems bringing out the sharp knives for Biden after the AG report. We are being outplayed.
