Ozempic is going to have some major lawsuits in its future, similar to docs just being script mills for ADHD meds or pain killers.

The solution to life's problems isn't always a different pill or injection. Sometimes it's just choosing to eat real foods in healthy amounts.

That means nothing. Eating healthier is better living through chemistry.

Checkout a plant based diet. We've had great results with it the last 5 years or so. Politics and the government should not have ANY INFLUENCE in your diet choice. If you want to exclusively eat red meat, go for it.

Great photo. On the other hand, I recall from my childhood in the late 70's and early 80's just how decrepit the thin men in their late 60's were. I guess modern medicine and the decline of smoking are allowing millions of people to live into their 80's, even while carrying around an extra 100 pounds.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

Could be, but wouldn't it be better to not be carrying that 100 pounds(as a non smoker)

That's great that it worked for you. I have a lot of co-workers who take it and have lost a crazy amount of weight. I was going to take it, then wanted to see if I cut out snacking and white carbs would do anything.

I've lost about 15 pounds less than the doctor said I would with Ozempic. Granted, it's taken a few months longer, but so far, so good, and the weight is still coming off.

I figure as long as people do what works for them, that's all that matters. It's the ones who don't do anything, knowing they should, that are the problem. IMO.
I took it as him joking, but if Salute the Vaccine is serious about Ozempic then you know it is not good for you. I have read that once you start taking Ozempic you can't stop or it will really mess up your body chemistry.

I have friends on Ozempic and they actually look sickly and unhealthy. Believe it or not, the "get thin quick" bit is actually not great for you.

Anything is better than a high carb/processed food diet, imho. I'm not a doctor nor am I really one to tell people what they should/have to do.

Ozempic is a microcosm for so much that is wrong with our society on many levels.

There is the angle that doctors will just prescribe it without asking questions. Medical institutions have become slaves to prescription drugs and not actually getting to the root of a patient's issues. Just mask the symptoms of the problem.

Then there is the fact that people are lazy and want fast solutions to things. There is a simple solution to being healthy, it just takes discipline and work and time.

Like you said, the Ozempic bubble will pop and pop hard. I just wish doctors who prescribed it could be held accountable also, although I'm sure they are protected somehow.

Ozempic/Wegovy will soon be available for kids and will be a very valuable tool in fighting obesity.

Quote:

The blockbuster weight loss sensations that have taken the industry by storm may soon be available for kids as young as six.

The manufactures of Ozempic/Wegovy and Mounjaro, the injectables that are raking in hundreds of millions of dollars after showing remarkable weight loss benefits, have reported intentions to begin marketing the drugs to children between the ages of six and 11 or 12.

And one respected poster and pediatrician on Texags is all for it. Couldn't be more blessed to live in a time when we can use modern medicine to combat many flaws in the human condition.

There are no flaws in the human condition related to modern day fat people.

Any doctor who gives a kid ozempic is a contemptible person.

Would be grounds for license removal and jail time in a sane society.

Edit: Just read the post and the guy admits to being a stockholder. Of course he would push it on as many people as possible. What a horrible person.

There is no weight loss pill that has ever been invented that was not found to have massively detrimental side effects within 5-10 years after being brought to market.

Well, technically, ozempic is a Type 2 diabetes medicine that has one of its benefits that causes moderate weight loss.

Now, using it for off label purposes may cause issues...

being fat because you refuse to change your diet and/or exercise is absolutely a flaw.

and using a drug to do what you personally refuse to do is also a flaw, as the underlying issues have not been addressed.

ban fatties.

everywhere/

Yeah, i suppose you're right and I should have said something else. Perhaps I meant the human design. The original human condition did not allow for fats.

We have been socially engineered to be sedentary and then our food has also been given all sorts of additives that make people unhealthy. The condition was changed.

The same people that want everyone to be fat are now offering the get thin quick drug. For some reason, i don't trust their motives.

Exactly.

It is designed to make up for a detriment in normal metabolic and hormonal function

People using it who don't have a detriment in function- well who knows how that will effect theiretabolic and hormonal regulation long term.

For example guys who are on TRT that don't actually have low testosterone see a decrease in output after prolonged use.

No need to use Ozempic off label. It's sold as wegovy for weight management.

Yep.

Like Ritalin is fine for people that need their brain chemicals brought up to the correct level.

But, it's just ****ing speed for everyone else.

If your BMI is 30+ or you've got high BP or Type 2 diabetes you can go down to 27.

Are you a fattie like me?
